Hallo! And Welcome on our website : Expat Living Jakarta.

How many of us expats are living in Jakarta? A lot! And I'm sure that the numbers would rise if we count those living outside Jakarta. Well, I know for sure that living as an expat is not always as easy as snapping your fingers, but that's the point! In here... we can actually tell our stories, in hope of helping others. Who knows? It might also help yourself...we can make a bond by forming our community in here.. I know there are so many expat communities in Jakarta already, but you know what? this is not only a community, this is the place where you can share your experiences, thoughts, lifestyle, ideas, or maybe just to have the feeling that you are not alone.

Hey, you can also participate even if you are not an Expat, but wait a minute, what is an expat or expatriate? according to google, expatriate is "a person who lives outside their native country", but for us, expat is not only a person who lives outside their native country but also a person with abroad experience who are already accustomed with other culture which makes you change the way you live.

What we meant by this is that when you're Indonesian and lived abroad in other country for so many years, you probably have different kind of thinking and mentality compared to the people that never went around. Now we are not saying that you wont like "tempe" and "sambal" anymore, but it totally makes you see things in a different way. I know you know what we mean....

Im very sure that you have many stories to tell. Especially when you live in one of most populated nation in the world with so many ethnicities, changing policies and plenty of culture like Indonesia...
